Wonkehmie Bellah, Director of the Economic Development Program
Today we are introducing Wonkehmie Bellah, Director of the Economic Development Program. Wonkehmie lost his father at an early age. His mother ran the farm and taught Wonkehmie how to be self-sufficient. The farm's revenue enabled Wonkehmie to go to school and obtain a General Agriculture degree. He believes that if one mother could impact his life and help him be self-sufficient, an organization can help feed and teach many, many more Liberians to be self-sufficient. That is why he joined CRI.
Wonkehmie works in the field from early morning to late at night, or until any issues are resolved. When the workload is too much, part-time assistants provide support. Producing income and educating others are important goals for him.
Many Liberians struggle to afford even one meal a day. The Economic Development Program focuses on producing crops, transporting crops to market, and helping others be self-sufficient through vocational farm training and education. Wonkehmie believes our CRI Economic Development Program will be important for the success of many Liberians.
Wonkehmie’s vision is to train more Liberians on farming, grow diverse crops, increase production, add livestock, and develop an adequate fleet of trucks for transportation to market. At present, our ministry requires an additional truck to grow its transportation services.
Thank you Wonkehmie for joining CRI. We are impressed with the progress you have already made with the Economic Development Program and cannot wait to see how many lives you impact in the year ahead!
