Meet Victoria Neewili, CRI Children's Home Director
Introduction to a CRI Liberian Staff member.
We are fortunate to have skilled and compassionate team members. Thank you for praying and encouraging them. Today we are introducing Victoria Neewili. She serves as Children’s Home Director and has been in her role since the Orphanage was built. CRI is fortunate to have consistency in this important role.
Victoria grew up in a humble and struggling family. Her father could read and write but her mother did not get to attend school. Victoria attended school until Junior High when she had to drop out due to affordability. She is the oldest of four children and, as the oldest, she had responsibility for assisting the younger children.
Victoria brings integrity, passion, patience and a kind heart to her role. She works with the children to develop trust and work through trauma experiences. She focuses on emotional and behavioral trauma repair with several of the children. To ensure everyone gets the support they need, Victoria listens to their needs and then adjusts the support they receive to meet that need. Every child is different, and Victoria accommodates her approach ensuring CRI remains relevant. Victoria realizes that her work cannot be done without effective teamwork, planning and organization. She works with the children to develop plans that make them feel part of the community through celebration, daily tasks and education. She shares what she implements with CRI staff and community members to ensure consistency and continuity.
Victoria is excited about the future of CRI. She is working on expanding the vocational school and educational program so that the children gain skills required for a successful future. For Victoria, success shows up in the face, attitude and future of the children. Success is a child’s smile, sense of hope, skill development and the ability to dream of the future.
